Incidentally, I don't know if anyone's noticed, but for this story I made a conscious choice not to follow the standard cartooning rules of "squash and stretch," where a stretched limb like this would become not just long but also skinny, like a stretched piece of bubblegum -- sort of a conservation of mass thing. Instead, as a dimensional effect, I wanted Bob and Jean to look like they were getting distorted in a single direction at any given time, so Bob's arm maintains its normal thickness here. Now you know!
